Professional Vein Treatment in Milwaukee

Vein Treatments

Getting rid of spider veins and ropy varicose veins can seem nearly impossible at times. This frustrating condition causes many people to feel insecure in shorts and skirts all summer long. Although there are treatments out there that can surgically repair the vein, they can leave you unable to work or resume normal activities for an extended recovery. Luckily, there are medical spa treatments that can help you get rid of those unsightly veins without a lot of downtime! At our spa, we offer both sclerotherapy and IPL laser treatments to treat spider veins and varicose veins.

Types of Vein Treatments Offered

Sclerotherapy For Spider Veins And Varicose Veins

During a sclerotherapy treatment, the physician will inject a chemical called a sclerosant into the varicose vein causing it to close and decrease in size and appearance. Sclerotherapy is great for treating either spider veins or varicose veins, but you may need several treatments if you're veins are very pronounced.
The physician will most likely target treatment towards the larger veins before treating the smaller, thinner spider veins. The overall session usually lasts 30 minutes, and you are safe to get a treatment every 2 weeks. The side-effects of this treatment are fairly mild, including a cramping and burning during the treatment and some bruising and swelling afterwards.

Intense Pulse Light For Spider Veins

Intense pulse light (IPL) therapy is another great treatment for curing spider veins. The IPL laser will be applied to the skin with a hand-held device that causes blood vessels to collapse and seal without damaging any of the tissue that surrounds it. IPL is relatively painless and feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin. IPL treatments last between 15 and 45 minutes and don't have any recovery time; you can usually return to normal activities immediately.
